Over the past few days my quiet time has seemed to have a reoccuring word to it. A word that, for whatever reason, seems to keep coming up in what I am reading & meditating on…
DREAM.
You know like one of those things you have at night. Or that we sometimes experience at about 3:00 in the afternoon when your brain begins to temporarily flake out on us for about 23.6 minutes.
A dream.
A picture of what the future could hold. A picture that doesn’t highlight lines, limits or boundaries. Instead it explores the power of the “what if…”
Dreams.
A mode or means that God has been known to speak to His people through & show them more of His heart.
For me, dreaming has it’s “ups” & it’s “downs.” If our dreams are centered in ourselves & our egos…there will be many “downs.” But if our dreams are centered in Jesus & His glory, there will be many “ups.”
I don’t believe dreams are meant to make us feel better about ourselves, but rather help us see more clearly. I do believe that our dreams will reflect what we worship most….and that can be a good or bad thing too.
So, in reflection, here’s what I’m learning/asking myself…
- Am I making time to dream BIG with God or just live day to day?
- Am I making it a priority to DREAM about the HUGE God-given vision for my family?
- Do my dreams reflect me & my glory or God & His glory?
- What’s keeping me from dreaming…is that a God-given obstical or “me” given obstical?
What about you? Do you dream? What are some things you are dreaming about? How do you take time to dream? I’d love to hear all about it!!
