I’ve always been a firm believer that what works today, may not work as well tomorrow.  At least in terms of reaching the ages we are targeting in CM today.

Interestingly enough, if you would have showed me this video of “Choo-Choo Soul” (by Playhouse Disney) about 3-5 years ago I would have told you I thought it targeted 2nd-3rd graders.  Interestingly enough, this video today targets 1-4 year olds and they LOVE it!!

But this isn’t some off market company targeting these kids with this kind of media.  It’s Disney…and it’s working!  It’s not only working in reaching the kids…it’s working on engaging the parents as well.

Which is so key…they are the ones with the money and the influence.

Disney is cutting a sharp edge with this one…and it’s working!  This isn’t just a one hit wonder they have out, this has close to a dozen different videos (I’m guessing, but it’s a good many)! :)

So, what can we learn?

What works today, may not work tomorrow and if we are still doing what worked yesterday…we may be falling behind.

What are your thoughts? :-D

Very nice. I think you hit on a good point about engaging the parents. If you can engage both kids and parents you have struck gold. That is something I have been really thinking about lately. Not just getting kids excited but the parents as well. We may find a financial bump in our ministries as well.
