Volunteers are the LIFE-BLOOD of what we do!

They are the arms, feet & legs of the body of Christ!

Without them owning the ministry, it doesn’t happen! If we lose half our staff on one Sunday, we take a hit, but if we were to lose half our volunteers…we are in trouble!

Of course, if you are a ministry leader of any kind, we all know this! We’ve seen it & could testify of it! However, i believe that if we aren’t careful, we can naturally progress to seeing them as ‘just bodies to get a job done’ & forget (at least in action) that they ARE ‘ministers of the gospel of Jesus Christ.”

So the challenge I’ve issued myself isn’t about me knowing it, but leading accordingly!

Although we know our volunteers are KEY to ministry happening, I’ve been asking myself lately if invest in them accordingly. I want to make sure that I am…

  • Praying for personal growth in their relationship with Christ
  • Pouring into them where they are
  • Encouraging community within their teams
  • Modeling & creating a culture that cares for people

Interestingly enough, I’m finding that this is done best not through “just me” but through the body itself. I’m not called to be the hero, but i am called to be a shepherd & good steward!

What about you…how are you investing in the “LIFE-BLOOD?” :)
