The more time God allows me to be in ministry the more He seems to continue to DRIVE home a very key point with me…relationships.  They are SO KEY!!

Relationships cover many levels…

  • our relationship with Christ
  • our relationship with our spouse, kids, family
  • our team’s relationship with Christ
  • the relationships we have with those on our team
  • the relationships we have with those we are trying to reach
  • the relationships we are trying to cultivate between volunteers and families
  • the list of relationships goes on and on…

My point, God keeps showing me how KEY these relationships are and how vital they are to what we are doing!  Relationships are an overflow…we can’t overflow into our team what we haven’t allowed God to overflow in us.  They can’t overflow into those they are reaching/leading if we haven’t championed them to allow God to overflow into them and if we haven’t overflowed into them.

Relationships have a recyclable result.

The irony of relationships is how we many times over look them and put them on the back burner for the sake of the details, the execution, the process.   Ironically though, the strength of the details, the execution, the process is it’s STRONGEST when our relationships are their most healthiest state.

We often just fail to take the time to grow them.

So, for me, I am trying to do all I can to grow the relationships with those around me, because God hasn’t just mentioned to me, He’s commanded it of me.  In this process I’ve learned that in order to do this well I have to realize these facts…

  • Relationships are a result of taking the time to be proactive
  • Relationships take intentional planning, not mishaps of coincidence
  • Relationships are vital to the strength & depth of the team carrying out the execution & reaching the people for Christ

Relationships are key!  They are the future!  But they won’t make our name famous…only His!  Then again, that’s the way it should be…right? :-D
