Yes.
Everyday is special because it’s a gift from God. We can’t even begin to entertain the thought that we’ve earned or deserve another day…we haven’t.
Its a gift…every breath!
Today though, for me, is extra special because today is my birthday!! So, to add to the birthday fun, here are some birthday facts about me…
- My birthday meal of choice is steak (medium rare), sweet potato & some sort of ice creamed dessert! (yes, my wife & I will be enjoying that tonight)
- As a child, I loved ‘ShowBiz’ Pizza…I had a birthday party there once.
- I absolutely despise the ‘happy birthday song!’ I lip sync ‘watermelon, watermelon’ at others birthday parties and protest if it’s sung at mine…it’s just awkward.
- I don’t really like cakes…I’m more of a pie lover. I was raise in the south…its what we do, we eat pies (cobblers)!!
- Most of my personal birthday gatherings today center around watching Clemson football. Just sayin’…I’m all in!
- Today, I’m 28. That’s older than I was yesterday, younger than I’ll be tomorrow.
- I was born in a small hospital in Spartanburg, SC…any guesses?
- 10 years ago, I was a senior in high school…not sure if that makes me young or old, but it sounds old.
Ok, those are a few facts about me. Random, at best, of course.
But I don’t want to talk about me…I want to hear from you! What is your most fond birthday moment ever…!?! The birthday you will never forget!?!

September must be the month for cool people’s birthdays! I will turn 50 years old in a couple of weeks. I can’t hardly believe it and I’m so excited to see what God has planned for me for the next 50!! I decided to celebrate 49 so it’s been a year long celebration! I spent a long weekend with college friends (we lived on the same freshman hall) in Williamsburg, VA where we attended school. One of the best vacations I’ve experienced. I also started running again last fall after a very long hiatus, culminating with competing as part of a relay team in an Iron Girl Triathalon. We have sent one son off to college, one back to college and the third into his first post-college home. So now my husband and I are looking forward to some quality time together to start “dating” all over again. Yes! I love birthdays and hate that HB song as well because I can’t sing it well.
