• 4:47 PM pudgehuckaby - Tony Dungy starts in 5 mins…
  • 5:06 PM pudgehuckaby - wow…its really him…LIVE on stage
  • 5:07 PM pudgehuckaby - (btw…10000 catalyst people just pelted 2 local little league teams with rubber footballs to introduce him)
  • 5:08 PM pudgehuckaby - His mom was better at spots, his dad helped him to understand more about the game…why things happened
  • 5:09 PM pudgehuckaby - sports like most things require teams…work hard together, accept defeats together, win together
  • 5:11 PM pudgehuckaby - Tony & his wife have been married 27 years…she’s the backbone of their family & has to take a HUGE role as the key parent during football season
  • 5:11 PM pudgehuckaby - She keeps him grounded…”hey, you’re not all that”
  • 5:13 PM pudgehuckaby - adoption has taught him a lot spiritually…you love your adopted kids just as much as your biological kids
  • 5:16 PM pudgehuckaby - your job as a coach is to help them be the best they can be…on the field and off the field (same as for leaders)
  • 5:16 PM pudgehuckaby - As a leader, people need you (your helps as the LEADER to make a difference) most when things aren’t going well more than when things are going well
  • 5:17 PM pudgehuckaby - When he addressed his team after a big loss they had…he told them that they weren’t bringing in new players, changing plays or anything. We are going to use what we have and just execute better and sharper
  • 5:18 PM pudgehuckaby - Later that season they told him that was a key moment for them…
  • 5:18 PM pudgehuckaby - The biggest challenge as a leader of 53 football players is getting them to buy in and work toward the same goal.
  • 5:19 PM pudgehuckaby - Tony’s parents “when you have a tough time it can drive you away from the Lord or pull you closer…its His desire that it pull us closer”
  • 5:21 PM pudgehuckaby - Tony had to be reminded of why God brought him to Tampa…to represent the Lord and win a championship (he just wasn’t there to see the last one accomplished)
  • 5:23 PM pudgehuckaby - In his biggest win…winning the Super Bowl, he saw the players and the families and realized he was a part of something great…THEN it hit him…I’m going to have 30 seconds to speak to 100 million people
  • 5:23 PM pudgehuckaby - He wanted to use that 30 seconds to point to God & his glory
  • 5:24 PM pudgehuckaby - At the end of 2008 season God showed him that it was time to step away from what he was doing to glorify Him in a different way. He walked away from coaching…because God told him too
  • 5:25 PM pudgehuckaby - Tony got a chance to minister to Michael Vick in prision…yet Tony thought, what if he had made that fishing trip (they’d talked about going on). Could it have made a difference?
  • 5:26 PM pudgehuckaby - In talking to Michael, he learned that a lot of his “waywardness” came from the lack of direction and presence of his dad. Tony said he would do all he could to be that for him
  • 5:26 PM pudgehuckaby - Tony has now started “All-Pro Dads”
  • 5:29 PM pudgehuckaby - We are technologically connected today like never before…at the same time we have the largest relational disconnection ever
  • 5:29 PM pudgehuckaby - 1 out of 2 marriages ending in divorce
  • 5:29 PM pudgehuckaby - 1 of 4 children raised without one of their parents
  • 5:29 PM pudgehuckaby - the biggest indicator, when talking to the men incarcerated, 90 percent of the cases were due to an absence of the father in the home
  • 5:30 PM pudgehuckaby - that BREAKS my HEART (God make me a great father when it comes time)
  • 5:40 PM pudgehuckaby - “We have the solution…its Jesus Christ! We’ve got to partner together to get Jesus out there to the people who need him most (everyone)” - Tony Dungy
