- Chuck recieved the Lifetime Achievement Award
- When God wants to do an impossible task, He takes an impossible person & CRUSHES it!
- The next generation of leaders need to be rooted in the generation of leaders that came before them.
- I’m so proud of what you all are doing & what you stand for but I just hope you will leave room for the CRUSHING!

10 things I have learned during almost 50 years in leadership
1) it’s linley to lead
- leaders have to make tough decisions & that seperates you
2) it’s dangerous to succeed
- very rarely does a young leader step into success, it takes CRUSHING, time & failure
3) it’s hardest at home
- no one is standing in awe of you at home
4) it’s essential to be real
5) it’s painful to stay obedient
- staying obedient means taking up Christ cross, not our own
6) brokeness and failure are neccessary
- it drives us to the cross
7) my attitude is more important than my actions 8) Integrity eclipses image
- what you are doing is not a show, integrity matters
9) Gods way is better than my way
- our problem is that we are just to capable, our flesh can do it & it drives us from God’s way
- God can’t pour His blessing into hands that are already full (with stuff WE are hanging on to)
- maybe it’s time to empty our hands & raise them to God
10) Christ’s likeness begins with humility
- not putting ourself first, ever
- putting Christ first, always

- 2 Corinthians 4:5-7
******We must be willing to leave the familiar methods without disturbing the Biblical message!!****
- Dont MISS the MESSAGE, but don’t MESS with the MESSAGE!
- traditionalism will make you dead, defend the things that don’t need defending, divert you from the things God is pressing on you

3 important observations…
1) With every ministry a special mercy is needed (v.1)
2) in every ministry the same things must be renounced & rejected (v.2)
- Hiding shameful things
- Doing decietful things
- Corrupting truthful things
- note how Eugene Peterson worded this in the Message
3) Through every ministry a unique style should be pursued (cv.5-7)
- we do not preach or promote ourselves
- We declare Jesus as lord all about him
- We see ourselves as “bond servants for Jesus’ sake”
- We never forget what we are…who He is

5 statements worth remembering during my next 50 years of leadership..
1) WHATEVER you do, do more with others and less alone
2) WHENEVER you do it, empasize quality not quantity
3) WHEREVER you go, do it the same as if you were among those who know you best (it keeps us from exagerating)
4) WHOEVER may reapond, keep a level head
- some will worship you, forget that
- some will critisize you, forget that too
5) HOWEVER long you lead, keep on dripping with gratitude & grace
