Isn’t it funny that with every New Year comes the new challenge of remembering what ‘new year’ it actually is. You know what I mean…when it comes time to fill out a check, form, or whatever it is that requires the date…we can’t remember what year it is. It takes us till around October each year to get used to writing the current year & then it changes again…I don’t know, maybe it’s just me?
Regardless, the great thing about each ‘New Year’ is that it’s a fresh start! It’s a way to start of each year on a different foot, on a higher note, remembering what we learned in the past year & applying it in the year to come!
I think that’s why ‘resolutions’ are wildly popular…for at least the month of January. None the less, I have decided to make a few ‘resolutions’ of my own this year. However, I wouldn’t call them ‘resolutions’ as much as I would goals or dedications…
- Grow in my walk with Jesus…daily!
- Spend even more time with and treasuring my wife!!
- Read 20 books…
- Begin writing my 1st book (I’ve been talking about it for a while)
- Get a new design for ‘Just Pudge (Anyone web designers out there?)
- No fried food, sweets, sweet tea or soda for one month (repeat every 4 months)
- Work out 5 days a week
- Get home gym started (Anyone know where to get a deal on an elliptical?)
- Start doing Pilates (I hear it ’stretches’ you out & at 5′6″…it can’t hurt)
Hopefully in 359 days I will be able to look back, read this list & see that I stayed dedicated to the things listed…not for my own glory, but His. What about you…any ‘resolutions’ or goals for 2008?
