more than “just” an experience? (part 1)
Posted by: pudge in COMMUNICATE, COMMUNITY, LEADConsider the following two experiences…
A team’s sporting event who’s fans are categorized more as fanatics than fans, there’s no limit to their fanhood. They’ll sit in the rain, wait in long bathroom lines, park miles away and walk to stadium & stay out till early AM to see their team play!
They LOVE their team, the experience and even PAY to be a part of it! Even with all the “not so great” parts that come with it…it doesn’t detour from their LOVE for the experience!
A park like Disney World or Disney Land where the employees say things like…”welcome home” and seem to have more joy in them than other companies can even explain…let alone, come close to seeing in their own employees.
They LOVE their jobs! They LOVE to create an experience for us that we’ll PAY (large amounts) for! Even with the long lines, the heat, the expensive food and the crowds…it doesn’t detour us or the employees from our LOVE for the experience.
Collectively, from that, we would all agree that there is a priceless value on a great experience. We’d even all probably agree that our passion is to create such an experience filled with the Holy Spirit each week where the Church is seen the same way…where Jesus is lifted up higher than a football game or mouse’s kingdom ever could!
But what if there’s more to it than just a great “experience?” What if their something in both these examples that we only see when we look beneath the surface?
More tomorrow…
