Although we many times fail to see it…every blessing from God is more than just a blessing, it’s a test.  A test to see what we will do with it and how good of a steward we will be with what He’s given us.

Much like the parable of the talents that Jesus told (Matthew 25:14-30).  Each servant had things given to them, each servant received a blessing that their master trusted them with.  However, not all of them used the blessing they received in a way that pleased their master.

To me, if we are given any type of role in the Church, it’s a blessing…and a test!  If our job is leading an entire ministry, an all-star volunteer leader or simply the opportunity to clean the restrooms…it’s a blessing AND a test!

Its a blessing because we are given the ability and opportunity to serve Jesus and His Church in such an amazing way!  Its a test because we aren’t called to maintain it (bury it in a safe place), but grow it (multiply it) in a way that brings HONOR to Jesus!

When all is said and done, our goal isn’t to be a good Christian volunteer in the church…nor is it to attempt to produce them.  Our goal is to  BE a GOD-FEARING disciple of Jesus…and to do all we can help grow that in others.

Our passion should be rooted in seeing people meet Jesus & modeling for them the servant’s heart that comes from the OVERFLOW of Jesus in us.  That we would PRAY for them, KNOW them, LOVE them and do all we can to be Jesus to them!

We are all blessed!  The question is…what are we doing with that blessing?
