Picking up from yesterday

5 ] CHALLENGES open OPPORTUNITIES

Change and it’s resistance are inevitable. However, challenges can also bring circumstances that create the fertile soil needed to produce positive change (without the drama when change is brought during the “good times”). Don’t miss the opportunities & doors that open even in challenging situations.

6 ] ALL EYES on…ME?

Yes. When challenges come, people look to the leader. They watch our actions, reactions and how every challenge will either refine or deform our character in their eyes. Lead like God created you to lead. Stay above reproach in everything. Communicate clearly and stay positive.

7 ] THRIVE over SURVIVE

The temptation is to simply survive the challenges that come our way. To defuse problems & erase what we can (while maintaining integrity). To play positive defense. BUT what about a change in perspective? What about playing offense? What about thriving through the crisis? Every crisis is like a tunnel, for trains or that you might drive your car through. Meaning our surroundings will never look the same coming out as they did going in! So, should we…should our team?

No matter what you call it (challenge, problem, crisis, tragedy, etc.) they aren’t planned or intentional. No company, organization or nation takes a vote and decides…(British accent, for some reason) ”yes, I do believe it’s time we create a crisis…it’s for the good you know”

They just happen.

It could be due to oversight or negligence; or it could be something that even if we’d seen coming, we couldn’t have done anything about it.

The reality is, God is Sovereign. He reigns and is in complete control. Even more, as every ‘crisis’ in the Bible clearly illustrates, God will be glorified through them…one way or another! Our only question is, “what role has God called me to in this…?” :-D

Knowing these 7 lessons helps, but I think my biggest take-away from all of it, is this…”lead in a way that allows the character of Christ in us to shine brightest in the darkness of every challenge…in a way that makes much of the greatness of God and little of everything else.”

Just what I’m learning… :-D
