One of the things we ALL want our teams to experience is “traction!” As in, the ability to GAIN ground, retain PEOPLE and MOVE forward!! We ALL want to gain traction on where we are heading together!
However, over the years, I’ve learned that “traction” doesn’t come naturally! It takes intentionally working at it! Here are some things I’m learning are a MUST for gaining “traction” within our teams…
CREATE CONSISTENCY
(as in our system)
- WHEN do I serve?
- WHAT do I do?
- WHO do I go to?
- HOW do I do it?
CREATE CONNECTIVITY
(as in our community)
- WHO do I serve with?
- WHO am I sharing LIFE with?
- WHO can I share my story with?
Over time, when our systems & communities don’t provide the answers to these questions, we lose people…we lose “traction!” It isn’t due to people spitefully wanting to walk away, it’s more a result of them NOT feeling…
- needed & included
- communicated with
- listened to
- connected with
- inspired to
Again, just what I’m (still) learning…
