There’s a simple demand for any team…a leader! Every team needs someone to encourage, challenge & coach them! In a culture thats healthy & growing there will always be a demand for more leaders (because there will be more people & teams).

So the age old question arises: what qualities must someone have to be a leader?

I have no idea what the right answer is, but I can tell you what I’m learning to ID in people. For me, I feel potential leaders look a lot like Jesus’ disciples (minus Judas) did…

  • SPIRIT-LEAD (they obeyed Jesus & were constantly pursuing Him…they LIVED for Jesus)
  • PASSIONATE (they were FIRED up & excited about their calling, they’re energy was contagious, Jesus overflowed from them to everyone they met)
  • THINKERS (they learned how to be Jesus to others (do ministry) without Jesus “being there”…they had to be spirit-lead, passionate, thinkers that didn’t have to be told every little thing to do)

In the end, I’m learning the potential leaders are NOT the ones who just repeat what I say or that just simply “get stuff done.” Putting those people in leadership may help complete our “to-do list” but it doesn’t help grow our teams or create margin!

I want leaders around me who SEEK Jesus’ approval more than mine!! I want FIRED up SPIRIT-LEAD, PASSIONATE, THINKERS that are contagious in discipling, coaching & developing others to be the same way! After all, if we’re all seeking Jesus with all we’ve got, He’s going to lead us toward the same goal! :-)
There IS always a demand for more leaders…what are you looking for?!

Just what I’m learning… :-)
