In preparing for our Greenville campus to launch God has taught me A LOT! Sure there was planning, preparation and purchasing…and a whole lot more, but that’s not what I am talking about really.

Those things are good things and they must happen, but those aren’t the key! If there is any logistical key at all it’s volunteers! Because no matter what you plan, prepare or purchase…it does no good without volunteers!

However, God taught and reminded me of 3 things that have to be in place in my heart long before (and during and after) all of this stuff begins to fall into place. The KEYS that have to be in my heart…

GROW with GOD

No matter how many energy supplements I have; in the end the only sustaining energy I’ll have is in Him. I have to build my spiritual muscle or I’ll never make it. I can NEVER sacrifice my time with Him! :)

God’s DESIRE trumps mine

Many times we get caught up in doing the work of God and we forget that it is His work! No matter how much we want His church to grow or see the lost get found…He wants it more! Trust Him more.

LEARN to ADAPT

No matter how much we plan or prepare…things are going to change. I have to be able to roll with the punches, stay focused on the big picture, and always keep a positive attitude! I have to always be ready to adapt.

These may seem like ‘no brainers’ but for me, they are key! Not just in launching a campus really, but in anything we experience in ministry or in life! What about you…what has God taught you lately? : )

Sometimes less is more and by keeping it simple, like your three points, that is what is key. This is good stuff Pudge and I definitely ditto what you’ve shared. God has been showing me during this season under your point, Grow with God that not only am I to never sacrifice my time with Him but also to be still long enough to hear His voice. I mean to really hear his voice. To be so in tune with God that you hear him speak to you, speak into your life and coach you along the way. It’s also not only In hearing His voice, but being obedient to what He is instructing me to do. Practicing this has been such a defining time in my life and my spiritual walk with Him. Your second point is so right on and so easy for us to fall into this trap. I read a quote the other day that was so profound it completely set me free…..The will of God will never take you where the grace of God will not protect you! How do we know the will of God, get down your first point, practice listening to Him and points 2 and 3 will come.

Thanks Pudge & thanks Cathy…I know your comments/advice might seem like “no brainers” (as you put it Pudge) but it’s always good to hear it again! We just launched a new campus, so to speak (new kids building & new way of doing CM), and even though it’s been a dream come true for me - I’ve been so busy preparing that I do need to stop, listen and make sure I’m doing EXACTLY what God wants me to do. Thanks for letting HIM speak through you. :)
