For me, I’ve learned that networking with others is very important. Also, I’ve found that there are many new ways out there to do this without it taking insane amounts of time and energy. But how do we network and why? Well, I can only speak for myself…
how do i network?
- The heart of starting this blog was to connect with others and share what God is teaching me. Through that I hope also to learn from what God is teaching others in their lives, at their church or in their ministry!
- Twitter is a cool new toy out there that connects people to what ‘others are doing.’ For me its fun to hear about other people’s life experiences. Also, many times there are pearls of wisdom (or just a good laugh) I can catch from those I follow.
- CMconnect is a new (free) online network tool, created by Michael Chanley, to help people in CM connect. It’s a place where CM people from all over the world can come together to meet and learn from each other. It’s awesome!
- The CM Roundtable is an online event I do through talkshoe.com, once a month. The heart and soul of this is to provide a cost efficient way for CM people to learn from each other. It’s basically a ’roundtable’ that happens online, without the expense and time of travel.
why do i network?
1) To glorify God.
- Side Note here: I NEVER want to network to ‘make me famous.’ I ONLY want to network to ‘make HIM famous.’ If it EVER becomes about ‘me’ more than about ‘Him’ it’s time to hang it up and walk away.
2) To learn from what God is teaching others.
3) To learn new ways of doing things that are probably way better than what I’m doing.
4) To keep a pulse on what happening in culture, CM, and all around.
4) To be an encouragement to others in ministry.
5) To share what God is teaching me through my life experiences.
What about you? How do you network? Why do you network? I’d love to hear all about it!

The blog world. It’s a little more important to my growth than twitter.
Twitter is phenomenal as far as connecting with other people. It’s awesome to understand that you have thousands of people to pull from their life and their experiences.
And last but certainly not least. Youtube. For me being involved in production, its interesting to see what is new and hot or the latest trend but also innovative ideas on how to present concepts to people.
Thanks so much for blogging Pudge its cool to see what God is teaching you and cool to see how you are shaping leaders around the country!
