Over the past few weeks my quiet time in the mornings has consisted of a lot of reading from the books of the prophets and Psalms. For me, there seems to be a reoccurring theme that keeps coming up…obedience no matter what!

God’s people weren’t being obedient to Him but the reality is…it was a heart matter. They chose their desires over His! Big no-no!

This has left a HUGE impact on me! It has influenced a large part of my prayers to be, that I would be, obedient! Not just on the big things, but at every single detail of my life. For instance…

God make me 100% obedient and loyal to you…

  • In how I live out my faith on a daily basis (Psalm 19:14)
  • In how I love and lead my family
  • When I have great days When I have knock down, drag out, horrible days
  • When things go according to plan and work out great
  • When things do NOT go the way I thought and I need to adapt
  • When I’m tempted to take shortcuts
  • When I’m tempted to do it all myself
  • When pressure comes to compromise by even just 1%
  • When you trust me with the small things
  • When HE (God) trusts me with the small things
  • When you trust me with the big things
  • When HE empowers me to do the big things

There’s much more but I think you get the idea! The thing that ROCKs my world is that God calls for my obedience before he calls for my praise!

When I am obedient I show where my heart lies! But when I compromise my obedience because it gets hard or uncomfortable…I am choosing myself over Him (this is exactly what I’m learning the people of God did).

People rarely begin by taking HUGE steps of disobedience. We normally begin by taking small steps…which lead to HUGE ones before we know it.

My prayer is that God would never let me get there! That He would keep me obedient and loyal to Him through everything and forever!! :)
