Many times when we think of an “org chart” we think of the following…

.
A basic triangle shaped object with many smaller rectangles inside of it (with words inside).
But what if “org charts” weren’t triangular in shape?
What if they looked different?
What if they looked like this…?

I am not claiming one “chart” is better than the other, but both have their benefits.
What I’m curious about is…which one you would you choose?
To be fair, I will tell you that…
- One of these has been created more simple and one more complex
- One of these has many lines and one of them has many “implied” connecting lines
- One we are used to seeing and the other…not so much
But all that is just jibber-jabber at this point. The real question is…which one would you pick…and why?
I can’t wait to hear you guys’ thoughts!

Im Type A so i say the first one .. IF i were to use the second one i would have to draw the connecting lines that are only implied. We actually use the second one …to a lesser level (if that proper grammar?) in our education classes… one big idea in the center with the smaller ideas radiating out and then the details to those on the outer level BUT i ALWAYS connect mine completely… guess im afraid someone wont know or i wont remember what went where .. which is crazy since its an obvious chart.
ok so if nothing else this post has verified that i have issues and prolly need to be medicated for them. LOL thanks again Pudge you seem to bring that out in me with your posts… i should just stop posting.

I like the first one but my brain more functions the second way. I like the second one. Call me crazy but I do

I like the second pic best….the freedom to think outside the lines ROCKS my world.
I also see no defined/limited “job description” with the second pic, allowing for more team work and less of the old “it’s not my department” ‘tude.
What our parents did was not always that great for our lives or kingdom building, why not try something that they wouldn’t!?!
Also, pic #2 isn’t as stuffy.
Just saying that’s how I roll & IMO!
