Ok, we’ve looked at the formula and we’ve talked about PASSION…now to the “stuff” within the brackets!
Passion 4[2 nouns + 1 verb] = simple {successful} ministry
So…having a PASSION for 2 nouns. Sounds simple enough but oh how we all tend to cloud the issue and miss this sometimes. At the heart of ministry our passion should be for these 2 nouns! Anything else is a hill that’s just NOT worth dying on!

- noun
- the literal Son of God; Savior of the world; reason for my existence; only perfectly flawless man to ever walk the earth
- my everything
Ministry is about having a PASSION for Jesus! Not just saying his name or preaching about Him, but KNOWING Him! It’s about knowing that what we do is an overflow from our relationship with Him!
When our #1 PASSION isn’t Jesus…we are in trouble!
…
- noun
- beings God made in His own image; those I sometimes curse at; multiple beings needing love, hope and peace that can only be found in Jesus
- my neighbor
Ministry is about having a PASSION for people! Our ministries exist because God has made it clear to us that He wants His people to KNOW his Son. Having a PASSION for people though doesn’t just mean “tossing them a bone” from time to time. It’s more. Much more.
It’s about them seeing and hearing our PASSION for Jesus come through in how we treat them!

There you have it…PASSION 4[2 nouns...]! Without this…we’ve lost sight of the big picture! Everything in our calling as Christ followers pulls back to having a PASSION for these 2 nouns…Jesus even agrees! So, what’s the deal with this “1 verb”…?
We’ll look at that next time…
