One of the things I feel God has been speaking into me a lot over the past year is how vital it is to live out my calling. Not just live it out in WHAT I do, but in HOW I live it out as well.
Scripture reminds us that we will be called to account before God when our life is over for HOW we lived out our lives for Him. For me, when I reflected on that truth many times before, I would think…WHAT I do today for Him is all that matters!
Part of that is true!
However, HOW we do the WHAT is just as important.
Sometimes more.
In other words, doing the right things in the wrong spirt or with the wrong attitude or with total disregard for others isn’t HOW we live out God’s calling.
I’m a firm believer that we are called to be blessing.
- To fellow believers…
- To non-believers…
- To those who hate us…
- To those who love us…
- To those we lead…
- To those who lead us…
- We are called to be a blessing!
Now, that doesn’t mean I don’t believe that we should never disagree or speak truth (especially when truth hurts). It does mean that I believe we have to be intentional and always open to being a blessing to others by…
- Praying for them
- Encouraging them
- Loving on them
- Serving them
Being a blessing isn’t easy. But I do believe it honors God in HOW we live out our calling.
And for us in CM…it’s HUGE for the example we set for those little eyes that watch us and every move we make!
