Although we probably don’t like to admit it, I’m more convinced than ever that what people remember most is the beginning & end of any experience! Many times this MESSES us up because most of our planning & excitement goes into the “middle part”:
- the thrill of a new theme park roller-coaster
- the entree served at dinner
- the programming of a Sunday service
- the hotel room that just got upgraded
- the show that has new lights & sound
- the big game & improved stadium
These are the things we dream about & spend so much time on! They are the “middle part” that we feel is the most important…it IS the experience!! And, to be clear, I’m not saying that it’s not! What I’m saying is what we will ALL remember most will be the beginning & the end!!
- the lines to get on & off this new roller-coaster
- the time it takes to order our food & get the check
- the time it takes & quality experience from parking lot to auditorium & auditorium to parking lot
- the hotel check in & out complications
- the inconveniences suffered in getting to & from my seat
- the time it took to get into & out of this new & improved stadium
These factors are what we remember, especially if they go bad! Even more, they are many times the reasons & factors that contribute to when & if we will return!
Don’t get me wrong, I still don’t have all the answers or know the secrets of the trade! All I know is that I’m just trying to do better everyday…
Just what I’m reflecting on..
