JUST PUDGE

I love the weekend! It’s just…AWESOME!! Sure, my weekend looks different than most because it runs Friday to Saturday, but then there’s Sunday…which may be the most AWESOME day of the week!! Here are some highlights…

my Sabbath’s changing…

• Friday used to be the Sabbath (day of rest) for me…
• Now, my Sabbath is switching to Saturday!
• Why?
• I want my wife AND I to BOTH have a Sabbath
• She works on Friday and Saturday becomes “cleaning day” for us
• Now, Friday will now be a “clean & work around the house” day for me (that starts after 11AM that is)!
• This way, Saturday will be our Sabbath together!

College Football ROCKS!

• A lot of great games to watch this weekend…
• Clemson vs. Maryland (GO TIGERS!!)
• Georgia vs Bama (Roll TIDE!!)
• Penn State vs Illinois (Stay strong State!!)
• Florida St. vs Colorado (Go NOLES!!)
• UNC vs Miami (never thought this would be a good game…)
• Virgina Tech vs. Nebraska (Go HOKIES!!!)
• South Carolina vs UAB (wait, who’s playing…is this a High School game?)
• South Florida vs NC State (Go PACK!!)
• Yeah, I like college football…what of it?

NFL Football is still on TV…right?

• Umm…
• Ah, who cares about the NFL anyway?
• I just learned today that Bret Farve didn’t play for “Green Bay” anymore…at MOE’s!
• Sad.

Next week is going to ROCK!!

• Next week is going to be an AWESOME week at NewSpring!!
• Going to get lots of rest this weekend to prep!
• I’m sure adrenaline will run through my veins like crazy!
• Also, side note, a lot of great season premieres on ABC…get the DVR ready!!

Ok, that’s it! Just me on paper, but it was fun!! What’s your weekend look like?!

For me, there is no question of “why I do what I do?” Simply put, I’m called! I don’t mean that to sound ‘haughty’ but when we’re called by God to something we don’t ask “why?”, we ask “what’s my next step?”

However, if I had to sit down and write out 3 reasons I LOVE to do what I do…3 reasons why I do what I do. It would probably go something like this…

LIFE CHANGE

Getting to see and hear the stories of LIFE CHANGE that happen at NewSpring Church rocks my face off! To hear about people who were lost in sin and now have met Jesus face to face and done a total 180 because of His saving graces…priceless!

Then to think…God let me be a small part of that. WOW, I am not worthy!

KIDS LOVING CHURCH

It’s not a great secret…most kids out there, don’t love church! Many of us growing up would probably openly admit…’yeah, church wasn’t my favorite place to visit.’ I love being at NewSpring where our passion is to see kids LOVE church!

It priceless to get to see kids who LOVE to come to a safe and fun place where they hear about Jesus every week!  I mean think about that…forever, church will be a place that holds a special place in their heart…that they LOVE to come to.  The impact there is…wow!

Then to think…God let me be a small part of that. WOW, I am not worthy!

FAMILIES EXPERIENCE CHANGE

To get to see LIFE CHANGE at any level is amazing! To get to see Jesus use NewSpring to reach a family…oh WOW! To see a dad get saved, marriages restored, families baptized together…words can’t explain! I mean we are talking a family…a HOME that had NO HOPE…in misery! Then, Jesus intervenes and saves them all and they go from ROCK bottom to SKY high!

Then to think…God let me be a small part of that. WOW, I am not worthy!

The truth is though, I’m not the only one that God lets be a part of these things. Every volunteer in our church plays a HUGE role in each of these and without them it doesn’t happen!

So, I have to naturally add to the list of “why I do what I do”…”Getting to partner with the most AWESOME volunteers in the world!” I mean, these are some of the most amazing people I’ve ever met and with servants hearts that blow me away!!

So…

Why do you do what you do?

It’s our new NewSpring website and I absolutely LOVE it! If you are wondering…who put this stuff together? Well, I can tell you that many genius minds went into it, but one of the KEY players was THIS GUY!

As you can tell, at NewSpring we have a heart to keep things simple. Also, you can see our new NewSpring logo on the site…I LOVE this too!

Personally, I believe Google has it right!! I love their simple interface which allows users to access simple options with multiple results. In other words, Microsoft…take notes on Google (sorry, was that mean?)!

Anyway, back to the matter at hand…GREAT JOB NewSpring Communication team! You guys are AWESOME!
